When Does High School Football Start In Each State

With the 2024 high school football season in the offing, a plethora of future college talents are putting on their helmets and getting ready to slam into each other beneath the luminous lamps of Friday night. 
 
Preseason high school football rankings have Mater Dei High School, the four-time High School Football America national champions as the number one high school football team. 
 
In some states the opening games start as early as mid August of the year. The other states would follow in the weeks of September, as indicated below. 
 
Here are the football start dates for each state in the United States for the high school 2024 season, and below is a guide on how you can watch a list of live games on Football. 
 
What States Start High School Football and When, High School Football Season by State 
 
Alabama 
 
Regular/ AHSAA Kickoff Classic games will be played on the 22nd and 23rd of August. 
 
Alaska 
 
Starting matches will be played beginning in the Friday, 16th of August. 
 
Arizona 
 
Newcomers to the field, class one teams 1A - 3A are scheduled for week one of the new season on Friday, Friday 23rd of August and the next teams in class four teams 4A - 6A are scheduled for week two of the new season on Friday, Friday 30th of August. 
 
Arkansas 
 
Games that will mark the start of the event will be played on August 29-31. 
 
California 
 
Pre-season matches will commence from August 21st while the friendly matches will be from August 14th. 
 
Colorado 
 
Thursday, the 29th of August, will have games that lead to opening of the event. 
 
Connecticut 
 
There shall be opening games and they are set to begin right from the 13th of September. 
 
Delaware 
 
Matches in the opening round will be held on Thursday, August 29. 
 
Florida

Start dates for the opening games are Thursday September 5th. 
 
Kentucky 
 
First matches will happen on the 23rd of August, which falls on Friday. 
 
Louisiana 
 
The first days of play will be held starting from September 6th and continue for the days that are specified with the match numbers. 
 
Maine 
 
Casual games or warm-up games will commence from Thursday, 5th of September. 
 
Maryland 
 
Matches of the first round will begin on September, the 6th. 
 
Massachusetts 
 
PIrates opening games will start from Friday, September 6th. 
 
Michigan 
 
The first matches, or the opening games as it is called will be played on Thursday 29th August. 
 
Minnesota 
 
The initial fixtures will be on Thursday the 29th of August. 
 
Mississippi 
 
Match of beginning rounds will be held on the 29th and 30 of August. 
 
Missouri 
 
Pre-season matches will commence on Thursday the 29th of August. 
 
Montana 
 
The first matches will be played on Thursday 29 of August. 
 
Nebraska 
 
As you are aware, opening games will be played on Thursday, August 29th. 
 
Nevada 
 
Games will begin with the opening games on Thursday 15 ^{th} of August. 
 
New Hampshire 
 
On the other hand, starters matches will start the coming Monday, the 9th of September.

The initial matches will be played on Thursday 29 of August.
