Ravenna football's impact players

Last year Bobby Melzer played everything from quarterback to tight end, from handling kick offs to being on the receiving end of them and several tackles. This year the media’s version is going to be Melzer who can play both as a hurdle and as a Chaser; he was also a quarterback and interestingly the tenth man of the defense line last year he made 42 tackles and intercepted the ball twice. Described as having good hands, and the ability to run a nice route, Melzer as it was said by the coach, Brian Coman is always the first one at practice sessions and the last one to leave practice sessions to improve himself. . . Bryant Thompson was also on the forefront last season, having boosted the most receptions, 20, and having the most receiving yards, 232. Thompson too excelled on the track like Melzer and as per Coman, he has the speed to beat opponents deep and has good hands Though, expected to play as a Ravenna second string player, Thompson is well suited for the position. . . . Coman further said concerning C. J. Ross, who will serve in both quarterback and defensive back positions, that, with her abilities, experience (after a robust 2023), and athleticism alongside leadership, she will be of immense benefit to the team. The plus side for Coman is that both Melzer and Ross have played center and as such affirms on the issue saying, “We now have two quarterbacks that we think can get the job done. “ . . Probable Linebacker/Running back Jaxon Kelly will be most likely to contribute and perhaps replace the graduated leading runner Austin Marshall. Kelly, who had a 22 carry, 99 yard season last year, is “one of the toughest kids on the team,” Coman said.

Where can I find current information about Ravenna football in 2024?

Let’s begin with the coach as Brian Coman enters thus becoming the coach of the Ravens. Coman is another player from Ravenna Class of 1988 having had ample playing experience having been the member of the Youngstown State team that won the national championship/He has also been practicing for many years as the Akron East’s coordinator of offense. . . . Coman will have a lot of support as he enters his first head coaching position with the help of Joe Leigh second only to the recently surpassed Jim Lunardi in the number of wins for the Baltimore Ravens. He is also assembling Brett Dubinsky, an assistant under Lunardi, who started coaching in 1970s. Currently, both are on their way to being placed in the Ravenna High School Hall of Fame. . . . Besides new coaches he said the Ravens will be “running different offenses and defenses than the last couple of years. ” . . They will definitely be employing different ball-carriers from last year this time around due to the rash of leading nnners Marshall who made 141 carrries for 1,105 yards and Ke’Shan Talbert 36 carries for 220 yards. Carrying the ball 22 times for 99 yards is Jaxon Kelly, and Amare Marshall has 23 carries for 125 yards While Melzer, Ross, and Thompson are threats anytime they have the ball. . . . This include sophomore center Bradley Davis, who started as a freshman and LaDarian Askew, who started at corner and also returned kicks in the last season.

Ravenna football's outlook

Expecting a lot new in Portage Community Bank Stadium in the present year including in coaching and running. On offense alone, there is no dearth of weapons; Bobby Melzer and Bryant Thompson who are Ravenna’s leading targets. Furthermore, C. J. Ross was effective in some games when he got the starting job at quarterback in the last season, and even threw three TD passes in an MAC win against Field. . . . The three-level leadership should be further expected to be strong throughout the Ravenna defense starting from first team all-Metro Athletic Conference’s defensive lineman Bobby Melzer who scored 42 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions, from second team all-MAC linebacker Jaxon Kelly who embraced 72 tackles and two interceptions and from the second team all-MAC’s defensive back Bryant Thompson who had two interceptions. . . . The Ravens look to rebound from the last two years where the team has had a combined record of 3-7 and build off a three-game winning streak the team had in the middle of the final three games of the 2023 season after starting off the year 0-5.
