Vic Garcia leaves Centennial to take over as Treasure Coast head coach Baseball

This man, Vic Garcia, is fully aware of how to bring an end to a dry spell. 
 
Back in 2023, he led an underdog team St. Lucie West Centennial to district title for the first time in 10 years. The skipper will come back to the dugout in coming spring hoping to stop another dry spell; only then he will be in different colors and of a different school. 
 
Change of colors- Garcia letting behind red, white and blue in favor of black and gold as he officially welcomed as the new head baseball coach in Treasure Coast Thursday morning. The Titans’ last victory in district was back in the year 2015. 
 
‘It is a new dawn,’ The words of Garcia with regard to the new stage. ‘When you already have such an opportunity to start something like that, it’s always interesting,’ It’s refreshing. 
 
“I would like to thank (Treasure Coast principal Brad Lehman) for having faith in me as well as for this chance plus the administrative team and the picking board too. ” 
 
The returned coach who is 57 years, had 33-42 mark in his last three years at the place coaching the Eagles. He was the head teacher in this school between 2004 and 2006 when he left and was replaced The team that was formed played 10-16 the last season. 
 
Garcia noted the opportunity to coach in a school that is about two minutes’ drive from his house as the main reason that forced him to give side-switching a justification that he described as “bittersweet. ” 
 
This situation shows that Garcia was happy at Centennial by using the word love, which illustrates joy, in the sentence: “I loved it here at Centennial. ” I can thank (Centennial principal Andrea Popwell) a lot for giving me this chance and then placing her trust in me with it. Next came Blake Combs an athletic director, he was a good guy and was always around and encouraging. But the kids are what really hurts the most, some of these young men that I have trained with for three seasons are leaving. 
 
“So I was not seeking a change of employment, nor was I seeking a change in networks because if I was going to leave Centennial this would have been the only one because of the where I live”. 
 
Now, he will assume direction of a Titans program which posted its best season of the recent years. Treasure Coast was a competitive team in 2024 was 16-8 won 24 games in the season with head coach David Morales. The team, District 11-7A second place, competed in the state playoffs. 
 
However, this year it will be tough because the Titans lost 13 seniors to graduation; one of them was Raymond Missett declared in TCPalm All-Area First Team. More to the point, even with the experienced player which is now missing, Garcia wants to come up with new talent. 
 
“Well, obviously they have been under the tutelage of Coach Morales for quite some time now, so it is going to be somewhat coming down to change. ” “I think we will be fairly young next year and as such we will need to work hard, but we are equal to that and are ready to work and to be honest I wish the baseball season was here already. ” 
 
Of course, when the next baseball season starts, Treasure Coast will have at least two opportunities to face Centennial in games that Garcia feels passion and anger are possible during. 
 
“I have never been in that position, and it is rather awkward realizing that we are in the same line and almost competitors,” he said. “It will definitely be a change to be coaching out of the other dugout at Centennial and to be coaching young men that we truly have a vested interest in. ”
