Utah State Men’s Basketball Sweeps Mountain West Weekly Awards

In Utah State lingo, head men's basketball two of its players got themselves some Mountain West weekly kudos as graduate senior guard Darius Brown II was named MW Player of the Week and redshirt freshman guard Mason Falslev was tagged the MW Freshman of the Week. This duo were the key players in the lead role that propelled the Utah State team to a 68-63 point triumph at home over the No. 1 in the nation.19 San Diego State. The USU athletes ganged up against AP Top 25 and now the university has recorded multiple victories, which is, however, for only the third time in the school history.
Brown joined other Aggies who earlier got MWPOTW honors this season. It is Falslev's second time to earn the FYW. The fourth MW Player of the Week recognition falls into the Aggies hands and no other team has hoisted a trophy more often.
Powered by Brown, Pasadena native, the season-best 25 points and the shot at four rebounds and one assist. He made 13-of-13 from the field, 9-of-17 from the line and 0-of-0 at the line. The light came exactly two minutes before the home team, the Aggies, leading the score 64-58, as he made a critical three-pointer. Furthermore, it was Brown who sank in the two free throws with just 7 seconds left for Houston to advance to the Sweet Sixteen, 68-60.
Rising Junior, a Tuspecia, Ut native; was responsible for ten scored points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. His teammates want to call his terminals "flag offered Brown for his brilliant three-point shot with only 2 minutes left.
With their 105-85 win on Thursday against San Jose State, the Utah State Aggies will now travel to Fresno State on February 27 at 8 PM. The game is scheduled to be live streamed on the Mountain West Network.
