Nikki Glaser to Host 82nd Golden Globes This Might Get Me Canceled

Nikki Glaser to Host 82nd Golden Globes This Might Get Me Canceled

Watch out, Golden Globe nominees: Nikki Glaser is the hosting for next year.

This young man, a popular comedian and a fierce and caustic celebrity roaster will be presenting the 82nd Golden globe awards in January.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes,” Glaser said in a statement. “It’s easily one of my favorite nights of television and now I get to sit front row (well…actually, I think I have to host from the stage). The Golden Globe Awards are a monumental night not only for television and film but also for comedy because show business lovingly pokes fun at itself (at least it should). (Please let it be that way). Each year hosting is exciting though it is also a bit of a task

Glaser continued, “Some of my favorite jokes of all time have come from past Golden Globes opening monologues when Tina [Fey], Amy [Poehler] or Ricky [Gervais] have said exactly what we all didn’t know we desperately needed to hear. I just hope to continue in that time-honored tradition (that might also get me canceled). This is truly a dream job. Plus, I no longer have to feel guilty for every TV show and movie I’ve binged over the past year. It was all worth it. (Below Deck: (uh, right, Sailing Yacht Season Four will be nominated)

“Nikki Glaser and her humor are unique and bold at the same time which is exactly what we were looking for to complement the Golden Globes,” added, Jay Penske, chairman and CEO, Dick Clark Productions and, Penske Media Corporation. “Her uninhibited and unreserved attitude made her an evident and persuasive nomination for hosting this year’s event, and we are closing our fingers crossed for this indicate the start of many Golden Globe awards that Nikki will captivate and charm our CBS viewers and other viewers around the world. ”

Glaser must have been a wise selection of the awards show. She has proved to be a whip-smart comedian across several stand-up specials, including earning an Emmy nomination for HBO’s Nikki Glaser: But, the EP could also be the work of an established indie rock band (i. e. , ‘Someday You’ll Die’ this year). She was arguably among the best performers during Netflix’s The Roast of Tom Brady in May, this year, Glaser’s killer and bawdy instincts would also add a risky unpredictability to the show, which has gotten pretty tame since Gervais stopped hosting in 2020. Moreover, the last two hosts of the Globes: Jo Koy and Jerrod Carmichael were also not very warmly welcomed. Host bashing is another aspect that the show tried in 2022 when it produced a show without a host and it too was heavily criticized. The previous Globes host setup that was adjudged successful in the eyes of the public was the one setup for 2021 where Tina Fey and Amy Poehler acted as hosts.

For the moment, Glaser hosts and is an executive producer for Lovers and Liars, which is in fact a spinoff of the HBO Max and CW dating reality show FBoy Island where she previously hosted and executive produced three seasons. Since 2021, has also been the host of, The Nikki Glaser Podcast.

‘Nikki Glaser is an up-and-coming comedienne who is not afraid to stir up some trouble; she will be more than ready for the Golden Globes,’ said Helen Hoehne, the Golden Globes president. “She is set to make the show lively as she will bring out spontaneity that would make the audience enjoy their night. ”

“The Golden Globe event has always been associated often a night of entertainment and inciteful humor,” said George Cheeks, Office of the CEO Paramount Global, president and chief executive officer, CBS. “Nikki Glaser is one of the freshest, funniest, and most fearless comedic voices and her brand of comedy will keep this special’s tradition of sparking laughter and carrying the torch for this show. ”

The Golden Globes 2021 will take place on Sunday 5th January, with the broadcast airing on CBS and for Paramount+ With Showtime users, it be accessible to stream live on Paramount+.

Golden Globe Awards organizer Dick Clark Productions is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, which is built on the association of Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge.
