Marcia Gay Harden Joins Robert Rippberger’s Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Renner’ (Exclusive)

The star of ‘Pollock’ that received the Oscar will narrate an artificial intelligence character and co-star with Frankie Muniz, Violett Beane and Taylor Gray. 
 
Academy award winner Marcia Gay Harden has joined Renner, a new sci-fi thriller written, directed and produced by Robert Rippberger. 
 
The actor of Pollock and Mystic River will appear in company of Frankie Muniz, Violett Beane and Taylor Gray. Harden will do the following character: Salenus, an artificially intelligent companion whom Renner, a computer boffin portrayed by Muniz design. 
 
The story revolves around Renner who after attempting to woo his new neighbor Jamie (Beane) with the assistance of Salenus he wakes up to shock that he has actually set his vexing mother on him. Rippberg will direct Renner with a script that he himself wrote in collaboration with Martin Medina and Luke Medina It will be produced by Rippberg and Medina, K. T. Kent, Devin Keaton and Jay Burnley of Slated. 
 
About the news, Rippberger said: ‘What can I say – It is a great privilege to have an acclaimed performer like Marcia be voice to the very piece of technology that is reshaping Hollywood. ’ “Of course we have always had oracles in society through time and AI is yet another reroute for people to stop thinking for themselves and trying to maintain the human, and human feel of art which makes the stamp of art unique and undeniable, and Marcia, she is an artist, and she has indeed given profound depth to the essence of this movie” he concluded. 
 
Harden got an earlier Oscar nomination for her part in Mystic River while the second nomination came for her work in the series The Morning Show on Apple TV+. She also worked in the CBS’s comedy drama show So Help Me Todd along with Skylar Astin and in the thriller movie Knox Goes Away with Michael Keaton. 
 
Harden also got her Oscar for the best supporting actress for her performance as Lee Krasner in the movie, Pollock which was directed and also featured Ed Harris in 2001.
