Great Falls Public Schools Board votes yes to high school baseball in 2026

Great Falls Public Schools Board votes yes to high school baseball in 2026

The board of directors of Great Falls Public Schools convened its August meeting on Monday the 5th. In June the board was introduced to the concept of how we are going to bring in baseball team to Great Falls; Athletic Director then outlined the factors of consideration. This time around the GFPS board debated on whether the high school based will be a reality in Great Falls.

The board was presented with a yes/no option for baseball to be brought in for the 2026 year.

The board requested that persons from the baseball community come forward and air their opinions on the issue before the committee made its decision.

We’re the baseball family, they just said we want to wear whatever; whether it be bison or CMR We can have little rivalries but we’re all part of the same community that want the same thing.

Following the members’ testimony, the board proceeded into voting and with a unanimous vote in the affirmative, high school baseball will be introduced to great falls in 2026.

Two current legion baseball players were present and both say they are more than willing to represent their school.

Opting for the name to represent the school feelings, one CMR sophomore Deakin Boles mentioned, ‘It’ll probably feel, pretty nice like all the football players walking around the basketball players walking around just repping the name because like, you don’t really have like a sport to do it, because like, we’re mainly baseball players and or like anything else… So, it’ll feel nice to be able to like rep our name,

Well sure, I guess, finally I believe it is going to be such a great feeling to being one of one of the first wrestlers to have that, and be one of the first baseball teams for our high school. Me, personally, I think that will mean a lot,” CMR sophomore Tristan Schoby stated.

After the boards unanimous decision to introduce the sport in 2026, local talents such as Deakin Boles and Tristan Schoby will represent their schools splendidly.
