Zendaya Auditioned Many Times For Descendants Former Disney Channel Exec Says

In fact, before the young lady became the star of blockbusters, she could have been an actor of the Disney Channel’s Descendants movies if not for something.

According to the VP of casting and the talent relations of the network Cornelia Frame in the Magical Rewind podcast, the Emmy winner had to audition for The musical fantasy television film more than once.

“I mean Zendaya did audition many times for Descendants and that was a big deal,” Colleen said, to hosts Will Friedle, (Boy Meets World) and Sabrina Bryan (The Cheetah Girls). “They made it a really big deal she auditioned time and again and she really really wanted it , but things did not turn out the way she wanted them to. ”

The focus of Descendants series are the children of the old Disney villains such as Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella de Vil. The first film of the series came out in August 2015, followed by two sequels in September 2017 and May 2019. And the spinoff Descendants: The Rise of Red was released on Disney+ at the start of this month.

Frame then said, “Zendaya put so much effort and so much work into it,” but it is, “one of those things. ”

‘Now that I think about it, I’m like, ‘Would Spider-Man have happened right at that same time?”, she added. “Destiny takes a swing; there is always that time when instead of something not happening, you book something else that is way cool. ”

Zendaya was initially on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up from 2010- 2013 and K. C. Undercover from 2015-2018, but she conquered Disney as a prominent star. The actress scored roles in several blockbusters, including 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming with Tom Holland and two next films which are Spider-Man: Far from Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

She also got a main character in a popular TV series by Sam Levinson ‘Euphoria’ for which she has received two Emmy Awards. She has appeared in the most recent Dune part and Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers movie.
