What led to Harry and Meghan to part ways with the Royal Family?

Harry and Meghan first crossed paths in 2016 and became man and wife in 2018. They both officially stepped down as senior royals from their positions in January 2020.

Resentful of intrusion, they were annoyed that it prevented the Firm from helping them build their ‘Sussex Royal’ enterprise.

Harry does not lose his title, therefore he remains a prince and is even fifth in line to the British throne.

The title of Duke and Duchess of Sussex was retained but the titles His or Her Royal Highness ( HRH) were relinquished. He also put aside all his military ranks of nobility.

When Harry’s father Charles ascended the throne, the couple gave birth to two children, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor of Sussex.

Where does Harry and Meghan reside?

Harry and Meghan left for California in June 2020, citing they needed privacy when bringing up Archie. It’s the palace where Lilibet was born this year.

The couple does not have an official residence in Britain any more.

In February of 2020, they were ordered to leave Frogmore Cottage, a 10-room mansion in the Windsor property with a special historic listing.

In April 2024, paperwork submitted to Companies House recorded the star as usually being based in the US rather than Britain.

The change was made on 29 June 2023, believed to be the time the couple relocated from Frogmore Cottage officially.

The conservative US think tank The Heritage Foundation has repeatedly questioned Harry’s US immigration status due to statements he made concerning his cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushroom use.

It wants information on him to be released so he can disclose if the drugs were declared – this would prevent him from getting the US visa.

But in September, US judge Carl Nichols held that the application should not be made public, thus applying to Harry Prince.

Meanwhile, there were some media headlines that the prince – who celebrated his 40th birthday on 15 September – wanted to come to UK incrementally.

But BBC News royal correspondent Sean Coughlan said “well-placed sources” told him that Prince Harry will remain primarily in the U.S. due to concerns about the family’s security.

During the visit he didn’t meet his father Charles and his brother William who was also absent.

Sussexes’ media firm, Archewell Productions produce TV shows for Netflix in a deal said to have been signed at millions of dollars.

In April 2024, Archewell announced that two new series are being developed – one is associated with the fun of cooking and gardening, entertaining, and friendship, and another centers around the career of polo professionals.

On X, which used to be Twitter, back in September, Netflix posted that Polo would air in December.

The couple is known from the documentary series Harry and Meghan which was focused on life of the couple in the Royal Family and The Heart of Invictus which was about the duke’s psychological ‘break down’ following his military deployment in Afghanistan.

Archewell also produced shows for Spotify on which it has a contract estimated at million 25 ($19.7m). This was meeting until June in the year 2023.

Harry’s book named Spare was released in January of 2023.

It covered his quarrels with his brother and father, but also his sadness about the loss of his mother, Diana.

The publishers of the book pledged $1.5m and $300, 000 will go to the Sentebale and WellChild charities respectively.

One may not know if the late Queen even left him any money at all.

She was in over a hundred episodes.

For what reason did Harry challenge the government on matters concerning his security?

Since retiring from active royal service the duke and duchess ceased being granted the body guards and other security features entitled to members of the British Royal family.

During the first period when he left the UK, Harry stated that it was unsafe to move his family back without complete police security, and went to court against the government.

Later, Home Office lawyers insisted the duke would continue to have publicly funded police protection in the UK but under ‘customised arrangements’.

The High Court in its judgment made in late February 2024 hold that this approach “was, and is, legally unimpeachable”.

Harry’s legal team said in June that he had been granted leave to appeal the decision of the High Court to the Court of Appeal.

Another separate court ruling dismissed the prince’s application for being allowed to go private to be provided with better security.

How does Harry address other court cases he has?
Harry had ended a phone hacking lawsuit with Mirror Group Newspapers in February, 2024.

The lawyer of His duke stated that the man had been granted great amount of money as the compensation. He was also awarded £140,600 as damages in another part of the case.

A number of other court cases are continuing, including:

of the duke and others that the Daily Mail-publisher Associated Newspapers had procured information about him in breach of the law
allegations that NGN the publisher of The Sun acted unlawfully when it obtained information about the couple
Earlier in June 2024 a High Court judge demanded a probe that as to why messages the might contain pertinent information from the legal battle against the publication of the Sun have been deleted.
