What led to Harry and Meghan to part ways with the Royal Family?

Harry and Meghan first crossed paths in 2016 and became man and wife in 2018. They both officially stepped down as senior royals from their positions in January 2020.

Where does Harry and Meghan reside?

Harry and Meghan left for California in June 2020, citing they needed privacy when bringing up Archie. It’s the palace where Lilibet was born this year.

The couple does not have an official residence in Britain any more.

In February of 2020, they were ordered to leave Frogmore Cottage, a 10-room mansion in the Windsor property with a special historic listing.

In April 2024, paperwork submitted to Companies House recorded the star as usually being based in the US rather than Britain.

The change was made on 29 June 2023, believed to be the time the couple relocated from Frogmore Cottage officially.

The conservative US think tank The Heritage Foundation has repeatedly questioned Harry’s US immigration status due to statements he made concerning his cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushroom use.

It wants information on him to be released so he can disclose if the drugs were declared – this would prevent him from getting the US visa.

Are Harry and Meghan still visiting the UK?

The duke was back to the UK in August to attend a funeral service of his uncle Lord Robert Fellowes in Norfolk.

The Prince of Wales was also in attendance and while the two brothers were said to have had a strained relationship in which they did not exchange words.

That May, Harry was present at the church service held at St Paul’s Cathedral in London to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, the Paralympic-style sporting event for disabled military personnel which He co-founded.

During the visit he didn’t meet his father Charles and his brother William who was also absent.

In February he flew back for a 45-minute meeting with Charles after Buckingham Palace declared that the king was a cancer patient.

The duke has also been coming to London several times for his numerous cases against the newspaper publish ers.

Harry went to King’s coronation in may of 2023 but Meghan did not accompany him.

The duke and duchess also returned to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June this year and her funeral in September this year.

How does Meghan and Harry make their money?

The working royal couple got 95% of their annual earnings from Harry’s father, the late Prince of Wales. The remainder of 5% was provided by the Sovereign Grant, which is funded by the taxpayer.

In April 2024, Archewell announced that two new series are being developed – one is associated with the fun of cooking and gardening, entertaining, and friendship, and another centers around the career of polo professionals.

On X, which used to be Twitter, back in September, Netflix posted that Polo would air in December.

The couple is known from the documentary series Harry and Meghan which was focused on life of the couple in the Royal Family and The Heart of Invictus which was about the duke’s psychological ‘break down’ following his military deployment in Afghanistan.

Archewell also produced shows for Spotify on which it has a contract estimated at million 25 ($19.7m). This was meeting until June in the year 2023.

Harry’s book named Spare was released in January of 2023.

Since retiring from active royal service the duke and duchess ceased being granted the body guards and other security features entitled to members of the British Royal family.

During the first period when he left the UK, Harry stated that it was unsafe to move his family back without complete police security, and went to court against the government.

Later, Home Office lawyers insisted the duke would continue to have publicly funded police protection in the UK but under ‘customised arrangements’.

The High Court in its judgment made in late February 2024 hold that this approach “was, and is, legally unimpeachable”.
