Who is Kat Torres, the Brazillian influencer jailed for trafficking and slavery?

A Brazilian model and wellness influencer named Kat Torres previously from the United States where she fell from grace. In 2022, after the FBI looked into the case of two women who disappeared from the house where Torres lived with them; she admitted to human trafficking and slavery and was sentenced to eight years in prison. 
 
This was not the only wrong thing said about Torres. Several other women came, narrating how the lady trafficked and enslave them through force. They were attracted by the fact that this girl once in a poor family of Brazil, now she is an influential blogger linked to Hollywood stars. 
 
When one of the 20 victims, Anna, came across Torres’ Instagram profile in 2017 she stated ‘She kind of resembled hope for me,’ BBC told. “She appeared to have survived in childhood violence, abuse, all these terrible things,” Anna added. 
 
The stars Torres claimed through the website extended to social networking, or more specifically, to friendship application. Not only did she feeding off on speculation of a dating affair with actor Leonardo DiCaprio but also marketed herself as spiritualist and a prophetess. These assertions together with prior performances on Brazilian television enabled her accumulate a fan base. 
 
Speaking about her boyfriend DiCaprio, Torres said: “I won’t say anything for I don’t know what he will think about it We had a pact, our relationship can never be discussed There is a big difference between Europe and America In Europe, we go out together in many places thus there is no need for people to ask us about it He does not like to be photographed and hardly goes out walking once people have realized it is him. ” 
 
As for her personal life, there of several rumoured ties with Leonardo DiCaprio, but Torres did not utter a word about it, stating that they do not disclose their relationship because of a promise they made to each other. However, a former companion was able to give some background information on a possible crossroads in Torres’ life – the use of psychedelics. This revelation invited speculations about whether these substances had a role to play in Torres’ restructuring of her life, from Alexandria Ocasio to become a life coach and hypnotism figure. 
 
Building up this new persona, Torres started the wellness website and a subscription service, that would guarantee subscribers to improve their lives for the dream of richness, love, and self-esteem. She included a range of money making proposition; video lessons on how to change one’s life, personal coaching for a rather high fee, with promises for fixing all the glitches in a person’s life. However, the crush for over 20 women came forward that narrated completely different stories. They accused Torres of scamming, or as we can call it ‘‘exploiting,’‘ them and that they are left emotionally damaged. Some of these victims are still into therapy to get over what had happened to them.
