Want to be in 'Happy Gilmore 2' with Adam Sandler? Try out as an extra
Attention North Jersey fans of comedian Adam Sandler and the golf sport! Next week is the opportunity to become an actor of the sequel to one of the clips of the popular actor.
Authorities from casting are looking for New Jersey residents to portray paid background characters in the Netflix film “Happy Gilmore 2 and this was announced by the casting company via the Instagram platform. Grant Wilfley Casting is having an open audition on Tuesday, August 20, from 1 pm to 8 pm at the Hyatt Regency in Morristown NJ, the ballroom.
It does not matter whether one has experience or not to audition for the parts. Some scenes will be shot from September through November in Morris, Bergen, Essex, Somerset and Monmouth counties, the agency said.
The pay rate of each work is $216 per eight hours to those who are under SAG-AFTRA and $176 per 10 hours to non-SAG candidates.
In May Netflix declared that Sandler would return as Happy Gilmore, a hockey player, turned a golfer, from the movie of the same name from 1996. The movie is always included in Sandler’s list of finest movies and enjoys cult status among the golf lovers − and the movie also produced a cameo appearance from original ‘Price is Right’ host Bob Barker.
So far, there are no specific dates that have been set down as the release of the sequel. Back in January, Sandler revealed to Dan Patrick that he and his co-writer from the first movie are Tim Herlihy with whom he’s currently writing the aforementioned film.
They simply continue writing and jamming.” What we are doing now is creating millions of ideas already,” Sandler said in April. “We have just got to make it a movie and ensure we are interested in people watching it.”
The star stated that he would “love” to get Drew Carey in the movie who now hosts “The Price Is Right.” Barker passed away on February 17,2023; Carl Weathers and Joe Flaherty featured in the first movie died this year.
"It sucks. We love those guys. “They are such key characters in the movie and they are just good persons” Sandler said. “But we are going to engage them We are going to get them involved. In some way they will be implicated.”
Those actors who cannot come for the casting call can apply for “Happy Gilmore 2” in either of the two methods.
First, residents can sign in to create a profile for free of charge. The account will allow the participant to answer the casting notices, got information concerning the new shooting dates and choose the New Jersey counties they are willing to work in.
Potential actors can also send an email to the talent agency to Hg2@gwcnyc.com with the subject as ‘NJ LOCAL’. The message should contain the applicant’s name and phone number, a recent picture of the applicant and to which counties they will apply to work in; whether or not they are SAG-AFTRA, and that they are over 18 years of age if not then the name of the parent and the age of the child.
