Top tight ends in Ohio high school football in 2024

The iron horse football season has returned to high school once more. 
 
In the upcoming weeks, we will be continually covering position previews of some of the best athletes that Ohio high school football has to offer. 
 
We began with marketers, defensive ends, backs, pass rushers, receivers and backers. Finally now let’s take a look at the performance of the tight ends.

These lists were made before the starting of the first week of the 2024 season. 
 
Brayden Boeing, Elder, senior 
 
Boeing stands 6-foot-5, and 230 lbs; he is a three-star recruit who has been offered five scholarships, and he is headed to Miami University. A season ago he caught a single touchdown pass for the 7-5 Panthers. 
 
Ace Brown, Archbishop Hoban, junior 
 
The three-star rate recruit also plays as a wide receiver and a linebacker for his team and the 6-foot-4, 225 pound Brown holds an offer from Bowling Green, Kentucky, Miami, and Toledo. 
 
Tayte Crable plays for Archbishop Hoban in Senior’s. 
 
Crable, 6-4. 200-pounds, has pledged to play at Toledo after the Knights’ finished as Division II state runners-up the past two seasons. Now the young man is rated as the three start recruit who has received 11 offers for scholarships. 
 
Zy’Aire Fletcher, Springfield, senior 
 
Fletcher is a class of 2017 three star recruit who stands 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds; he has received seven scholarship offers and plans to play for Kent State after leading the Mount Vernon Wildcats to Division I state runners-up for the last two years. 
 
Brayden Fogle, Lexington, junior 
 
Rated now as one of the best athletes in 2026 class and playing both, football and basketball San Diego’s 6 foot 3 inch, 225 pounds prospect has receivedalom offers from Georgia, Michigan, west Virginia, Wisconsin and coming. 
 
Toledo Central Catholic: Preston Fryzel, jr. 
 
Fryzel is a three- star recruit with offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, Minnesota and Pittsburgh among twelve other schools, and he stands 6-4 and weighs 210-pounds. Fryzel caught 13 passes, for 300 yards and two TDs last year in leading the Fighting Irish to the Division III state championship. 
 
Its official, Lakota West’s senior, Luka Gilbert is the real deal . 
 
Standing at 6-7, 233 lbs Gilbert is a four star prospect who plans to attend the University of Miami. He caught 15 passes for 171 yards and two scores last season and earned honorable mention all-state, Division I, as the Firebirds went 11–3 last fall.

Hamilton is a three-star recruit, stands 6-foot-4, 230 pound and has received offer from Kentucky and four Mid-American Conference schools. 
 
Grant Houser, Wapakoneta, senior 
 
Houser is a three-star decides who measures 6-foot-5, 230-pound and who will be joining the Louisville team. 
 
Tyler Kielmeyer of Westerville South is a senior. 
 
He is a 20 offer athlete being recruited as a three-star from Kielmeyer who measures 6’7,” 235 lb, and is headed to Louisville. In the previous season, he played and scored 18 receptions for 383 yards and 2 touchdowns. 
 
Brian Kortovich, Villa Angela-St. Joseph, senior 
 
Kortovich is a three-star centre with 14 offers and is bound for Purdue; he stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 225 pounds. Kortovich played mainly as a wide receiver last season and he had 23 receptions, 427 yards and five touchdowns as the Vikings posted a 9-4 record. 
 
6 Brody Lennon Gilmour Academy Senior 
 
Lennon, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end, is currently ranked a three-star recruit, in the website’s evaluation, and he has 20 scholarship offers with his commitment to play for Ohio State Buckeyes. Lennon had 32 receptions for 750 yards and 11 touchdowns last season while also earning second-team all-state honors on the defensive line this past season; Lancers were 9-3. 
 
Cooper McCutchan, Archbishop Moeller, junior 
 
McCutchan a 6-foot-4, 220 pound three star prospect currently has 19 offers including from Duke, Georgia Tech, the University of Texas at A&M and Virginia. 
 
P. J. Macfarlane Lakota East Sch, 11 
 
Hailing from Lexington, MacFarlane, 6-5, 205 pounds has scholarship offers from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State and Toledo. One year ago MacFarlane caught 12 passes for 126 yards. 
 
Landen Miree, Princeton, junior 
 
Last season Miree hauled in 24 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns as the vikings won 12 games and 1 lost. The 6-4, 215-pounder is a three-star recruit and has a scholarship offer list that has Florida, Oregon, West Virginia and Wisconsin among the list. 
 
Over looked Nimmo, Catholic high school over looked Mentor Lake senior 
 
Over on the gridiron, Nimmo caught the ball 30 times for 801 yards and scored 15 touchdowns and sacked his opponents four times while playing defense as the Cougars won 10 of last year’s 13 games that were played. Nimmo is a three star rated lofty prospect who has collected 13 scholarship offers and confirmed to Minnesota. 
 
Caden Piening, Anderson, senior 
 
He is 6’4 230 lbs, a three star recruit or rank, has 23 offers and is going to Central Florida. One year ago, Piening registered twenty two receptions for the amount of four hundred and sixty goal yards and five touchdowns as a total. 
 
Kamaurri Smith of Huber Heights Wayne high school coming from senior year 
 
Smith is a three star athlete who plays both wide receiver and tight end, he has nine offers and he committed Cincinnati. A second year 6-5, 200 pounder, what Smith did last year – had 17 catches for 190 yards and two TDs. 
 
Michael Stevenson, Bloom-Carroll, senior 
 
The 6-foot-5, 230 pound Stevenson has received eight scholarship offers with interest from Army and 4 MAC schools. In the regular season of the previous year, Stevenson made 13 receptions and received 149 yards while making four touchdowns.
