Sydney Sweeney Reveals Physical Transformation While Preparing to Play Boxer Christy Martin in Biopic
The aspiring actress wore her brown hair and flaunted her well-chiseled biceps for the first time after she shaved for the movie.
Sydney Sweeney is gearing up for their fight.
The latter took to her Instagram account to post a couple of selfies she took when she was on the set of the movie based on the life of Christy Martin in which she’s to feature (as shown below).
“Well the cats out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes so here’s a little bts from my film im working on right now 🙈🚫😜” she wrote in an Instagram caption of two photos of her in sweats with a brown, curly hairdo. “As you know, I’ve been training for the last several months to make the story of an amazing woman — an inspiring fighter who fought both in the ring and outside.”
She stated, “This shall preach on the strength and spirit of women and I am privileged for the opportunity to act as her stood here today and tell you all her story.” More to come soon.”
David Michôd will direct the move, which is yet unnamed and based on the life of Martin and her turn to becoming one of the most popular female boxers in 1990s America. Ben Foster, Merritt Wever, Ethan Embry and Katy O’Brian are also presented in the biopic, which is produced and financed by Black Bear which cooperated with Sweeney at Immaculate.
Martin started working in 1989 after a meeting with Jim Martin with whom she would later marry. She retired from the same in 2012, and she is the only female boxer to date to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
However one cannot dispute that the athletes life has not borne its own fair share of challenges. Her husband: In 2010, he attacked her with a knife and shot her on the chest, then left her for dead. She was able to struggle and run out of the house, get the attention of a man who took her to the hospital. Two years later, Jim Martin was convicted of 25 years of prison for attempted second-degree murder with a firearm.
Last week, the boxer said to CBS News that he sexually and emotionally abused her. He got her hooked on cocaine and according to her, he used to supply her with it. He also threatened to out her as gay which is such a cruel thing to do to anyone especially a young woman.
She said to the network: “The whole sexuality part is really difficult because I was so intertwined.” To begin with, I believed in Jim Martin’s words, and he was 25 years my senior. He was my coach. I guess this was the type of friend that I could share with all the issues I have with my sexuality, my problems with my family, in general life issues, and all of that was used against me.
