Spooky sights take over downtown in Lexington's Halloween festival

A dozens of zombies stormed in downtown Lexington Sunday evening. But do not get too upset – it is only a part of Halloween festival which is held in Lexington.

A major event for anyone, youth and family, -it is a free festival which helps to include it among the best Halloween celebrations and attractions in the United States: it appears in the Top 10 Halloween destinations according to USA Today, and in the Top 25 Best Halloween Festivals Across the U.S according to Oprah Magazine.

Another zombie, one among the few that put on makeup was Haydn Haycocks and he said, “I came to this city in the year 2017 and then I heard of it and then I guess I died on the inside before I could attend this event.”

So, for example, the zombies got with another, much smaller number, of Michael Jackson’s at the festival. Yet, a chorus of groups dancing to “Thriller” came forth floating along the Main Street during the festival. One of the dancer matching Jackson’s red-vested look was Payton Martin.

“It is my first time to do it really, and this is my first time actually witnessing the Thriller thing,” Martin said. Yes, I have been dancing the Michael (Jackson) thing honestly since I have been a little kid. I always loved his music.”

“I never thought the day would come that rise,” Haycocks said evenly spinning the comedic element of the character, “but I did it, and I’m absolutely – it is an honor to be a part of it.”

During the festival, Julie “Juju” Judge owned a store which she put as Jujuland for the people to know where to find her. Judge has been present for the last 10 years at the show, and the raunchy celebrations don’t bother her.

It’s all good juju because we all send out good juju and to me good juju is love, peace and understanding, and going out into nature and loving life! And look, look around us. It’s got to be love man, and it is good.”

People of knights, dancers and costumed characters lined the streets of Main to watch the exhilarating parade as the sun went down.

“I love the people. It has disgruntleds and so it has social people.” Judge said “I love communicating with the people.” “I enjoy watching everybody be creative, and costumes, you know that’s fantastic when everybody gets out of their comfort zone.” And they went through and then of course the parade. To the parade it is always as much of a great time.

However, it was fun to watch the parade since other friends and families were waving to the groups strolling the street. Lastly, the dancing groups performed the fade out and ended the other entertaining and frenzy festival. Others may even go to an extent of describing the diet as a thriller.
