Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's name change hearing has been delayed

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s name change Hearing has now been moved on.

At the age of 18, Shiloh Pitt decided to legally emancipate herself from her father and wanted to change her named to Shiloh Jolie.

However, she will have to wait a little bit longer as her hearing was rescheduled because of an incomplete background check.

However, the court failed to conduct the background check before today’s hearing, therefore, the hearing was moved to August 19, stated Jolie-Pitt’s lawyer Peter Levine.

To Embury and Samani, any subject undertaking a name-change application must be subjected to a background check by the court clerk and since Shiloh’s hearing was due to a clerical error, it has been pushed to another date.

Hiloh is the actress Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter.

The news first surfaced that she planned to ‘甩’ Pitt or drop it from her last name at the beginning of June after she filed the papers on May 27, 2024, which is her actual birthday, the day she turned 18.

It was only one week ago that she took the second step of the process taking out an advert in the Los Angeles times to notify everyone that she had filed to change her last name to Jolie.

According to the California rules, before a judge can grant a name change, the man who seeks this decision must publish the legal forms to this effect in the newspaper for one month.

After that, the request will appear in the legal notice section of the paper which is published regularly.

Levine, in a statement published in People, urged the media to be ‘more careful’ in covering the subject saying, “Especially when covering a young adult who has made an independent and significant decision following painful events, and is merely following legal processes. ”

He added: ”Shiloh Jolie did not place an ‘ad’ on any Newspaper informing the public about any new change of the baby’s name and any newspaper reporting new information on it is false. I am a legal attorney for Shiloh and under the law of California, therefore I have to place a legal notice in the paper because the law has standards that demand any person who wishes to change his/her name to do so legally.

“That legal notice was placed in this paper Los Angeles Times as it is legally demanded. ”
