Riize’s Management Says Seunghan Is Leaving the K-Pop Group Days After Announcing His Return
There seem to be quite a number of raining scandals in the entertainment industry that has called it quit from their respective groups, is also a similar case with the K-pop singer Seunghan who appears to have left his group, Riize.
The news comes only two days after Wizard Production the SM Entertainment production team in charge of the group officially stated the 21-year-old would be returning from his 10 months long hiatus.
On October 13, the post directing to the account on X, previously known as Twitter was posted by Wizard Production, the company that manages the group Riize apology for “hurting” and “causing confusion” with their statement made on October 11 about Seunghan’s return to the group, the fans are called Briize officially. This particular turnaround appeared to be very sudden which is why many of the reactions to this particular post and reposts seemed to be-driven by what could be described as disbelief and disappointment.
Seunghan’s activities were suspended in November 2023 because of photos and videos from his daily life before debuting with the group circulated on the internet. The leaks involved him placing his lips on the.Unknown woman in bed and extending his hand to hold a cigarette.
In the Oct 11 statement that was translated by Soompi the following statement which announced Seunghan’s return offered an optimistic view about the future of the group stating that he was expected to return to the groups activities in November.
The statement read in part: Wizard Production has prepared RIIZE’s concept even before their debut, and we have concluded that it is still more meaningful if the seven members created the next chapter of RIIZE. Thus, many discussions have been held with the employees and members as to the further activities of the group; it has been decided to re-invite Seunghan to the group.
The October 13 statement said the company believed Seunghan coming back after “he had contemplated what he had done wrong” was better for the artist deserving more ‘joy’ among the fans. It continued: “Still, upon the statement on his comeback, we read over every single fans’ opinions and reactions sent in, and ultimately, we found out that our decision had actually inconvenienced the fans even more and created more misunderstanding among them.”
“However, Seunghan has been also concerned about leaving the group not only for the sake of the members and their fans. ’As a result, we are announcing his departure from RIIZE not his joining the group as an artist from now on out of respect for the artist’s decision,’ the statement went on.
Seunghan tried to explain the reasons why left the group, writing a letter to the fan platform Weverse, which is handwritten. Saying that he had been questioning if he was too selfish, if he is causing harm to the company members and RIIZE who are supposed to be loved, he only felt worried and apologising for that, as he stated, as translated by Soompi.
“So I believe that I should exit from the group, which will be the best option for them. He went on to say in the statement: “I do not wish to hurt or confuse the fans any more and I do not wish to harm the members any further and also do not wish to harm the company any further.”
In the statement, the singer explained that he didn’t wish for the ‘damage’ of the relationship between RIIZE and its fans; “It pains me to know fans, for whom it should only be natural to support RIIZE, are fighting as rivals because of me.”
At the time of writing this article, a Change.Org petition initiated on the 13th October that has the title “We want seunghan back!” “I have a friend Riize and that’s richtig, Riize is 7!!!!!” the phrase tweeted by a user named Lauren Lim has attracted more than 85000 supporters.
Riize has not made any other statements.
