Rep: Beyoncé Is Not Performing at DNC Was Never Scheduled to Attend (Exclusive)
One of her representatives stated that Beyoncé will not be present in the Democratic National Convention 2024.
“Beyoncé was never booked to be there in the first place,” an official with the Nigerian music diva’s Grammy-winning record label replies The Hollywood Reporter. As much as I want to argue that the so called report of a performance is perfectly fine, I must truthfully say “The report of a performance is untrue. ”
Speculations that the pop star was in attendance and on stage at this year’s DNC, toasting VP Kamala Harris’ record-shattering presidential candidacy bid, have surged across the internet all week.
It was only on Wednesday that information came out that Pink would be performing right before Harris’ speech. On Thursday, Pink — who sang “What About Us” alongside her daughter Willow — was seemingly shifted higher up the running order, and went on to fuel further speculation of a guest performer arriving later in the show.
Beyoncé’s presence was, however, still felt in the Chicago’s United Center arena as the song, “Freedom” was played to Harris before she was played on stage for her speech when she formally accepted the party’s nomination on Thursday. In particular, the superstar singer had immediately allowed Harris to adapt the 2016 track Lemonade for the presidential campaign. Since then, it has become a familiar campaign song, featuring in a new Harris-Walz spot, which also served to mark the commencement of the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
This year’s DNC was opened, moderated, I would say, opened by Tony Goldwyn, Ana Navarro, Mindy Kaling and Kerry Washington, each of whom presided over one night of the DNC. A four-day event included concerts by Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Patti Labelle, and other musicians; appearances by such unexpected guests as Oprah Winfrey, who spoke to urged independents like herself to vote; a daytime panel with Julia Louis-Dreyfus; and so on.
During the third night, Legend jointly with Sheila E. , using the stage to commemorate the vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz, paying homage to his home state of Minnesota, Legend then made his tribute to Prince’s born city at Minneapolis through the song “Let’s Go Crazy”.
Wonder also made a surprise appearance in Chicago on Wednesday, where he performed his hit song “Higher Ground. ” “This is the moment to remember: when you tell your children where you were and what you did. As we are sandwiched between the sufferings of the past and the hopes of the future, we have no choice but to be courageous. So, it is time to rise up and go and grab the ballot papers,” Wonder told the gathering.
The Republican National Convention in July saw the likes of movie star Hulk Hogan, musician Kid Rock and former stripper Amber Rose.
Assuming a time stamp of 8. 22 PM …. . latest addition; check out Matt Harris performing ‘Freedom’ as he departs from the DNC stage.
