Ohio high school football: Top junior running back recruits for the 2024 season

Welcome to the season of Ohio high school football 2024; let us look at some of the highest rated recruit to look for this season. In this series, we will highlight the best of the best at a number of positions for a given graduating class. 
 
We kicked off by profiling you the top senior recruits in ten distinct positions – quarterbacks, running backs, linebackers, edges, receivers, DBs, tight ends, OLs, and DLs. 
 
Then, we transitioned to the top junior recruits where, we had the quarterbacks and now we are going to take a look at the best junior running back recruits. 
 
In the list of 43 ranked players for the class of 2026 in Ohio, there are two running backs only – Shahn Alston of Harvey, and Robert Lathon of Bishop Hartley. As of yet, no one has bluffed. 
 
It should be noted that all ranks are calculated on the basis of 
 
Top 2 junior running back recruits in Ohio:Top 2 junior running back recruits in Ohio: 
 
1. Five-foot, nine-inch, 205-pound Shahn Alston Harvey, 5th overall in Ohio’s 2026 class; he has not committed to any team. 
 
Has been playing for the Red Raiders since his freshman year; during which he rushed for 675 yards and 15 scores besides 12 receptions for 79 yards and one touchdown. In his sophomore year, he rushed for 1,042 yards and scored fifteen times, and also caught for 82 yards and scored on an occasion; he also scored on a kickoff return. 
 
On defense as a sophomore he contributed 33 tackles after his freshman season where he had 39 tackles, five sacks, two interceptions and four forced fumbles. 
 
Streaky, he remains unfirmed by more than 20 institutions of learning among them Auburn, USC, Wisconsin and West Virginia. 
 
2. Robert Lathon, Bishop Hartley; 5-foot-11, 180 pounds (No. 34 overall); Uncommitted 
 
Was second-team All-Ohio Division IV last year after gaining 1,723 yards rushing with 21 touchdowns. 
 
Uncertain, he retains a schedule of more than 10 offers with Kentucky, Purdue and Toledo amongst them.
