New Murphy High School Head Basketball Coach

New Murphy High School Head Basketball Coach

The show spends a brief time on their Murphy High School during basketball season although summer has not finished and fall sports have not commenced either. Heath Curtis took the position as the head coach of the Murphy Bulldogs varsity basketball team. The 33-year-old veteran coach is newly appointed recently for the post and the position is his first as a varsity head coach.

Curtis is a staff of Murphy High School both as a teacher and as a coach. Over the past several years he has served as the head Junior Varsity basketball coach (2019 through 2021) and assistant varsity coach for Erik Laney (2017 through 2021). Heath is a 2009 graduate of Murphy High School. In that period he was a Two or Shooting Guard for the Bulldogs from 2006 through 2009.

Motivation and willingness to be the next head basketball coach is manifested with someone like, Coach Curtis. It goes beyond being selected to lead the varsity basketball team with whom he held a meeting on Monday to discuss on his coaching and his team, vision and philosophy. The new additions and enhancement are; Curtis hires new assistant coaches Michael Kernea and Cody Allen. Kernea and Allen are not novices in athletic activities and coaching is also their area of interest. The novel shows how coach Curtis feels or being appointed as the new head coach at Samford.
