Sustainable Entertainment Alliance, previously the Sustainable Production Alliance, is a project of film, television, and streaming production companies working for environmental responsibility in the industry by their actions on and off screen. The association’s members are A24, Amazon Studios, Amblin Partners, Disney, Fox Corporation, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Paramount Global, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Village Roadshow, Warner Bros. Discovery. The alliance is now focused on an expansion by developing resources and opportunities for industry engagement around sustainability onscreen after having provided all of the guidelines for sustainable production through the Green Production Guide.

“We are glad to work on how entertainment can respond to audiences’ desire for stories that reflect and respond to our warming planet and propel the industry toward a greener future — onstage and behind the scenes,” said Sam Read, the executive director of Sustainable Entertainment Alliance.

Adds NRDC’s Rewrite the Future director, Daniel Hinerfeld: “The professionals are pushing the bar going for the creation of environmentally conscious and relevant award-winning films/tv shows & series. Not every story must have a lens through which climate change is viewed; but just knowing that we are living in a climate altered world has the power to make any story that bit more meaningful and engaging.
