Massachusetts high school coach runs basketball camp in the summer, "it's all about fun"

This visionary high school basketball coach in Massachusetts is creating a fabulous tale as he has started a basketball camp for kids.

Dave Fazio has coached men basket ball at Andover High School and he has accumulated more than 500 wins and is in Massachusetts Coaches Hall of Fame.

“Well as I said before more than anything more than everything our alumni they are like my children,” Fazio responded.

All about having fun

Fazio is also the host of a summer camp, which is called Hooptown and in which every little thing is focused on fun. The games of Hooptown are set for seven weeks, where four for boys, and three for the girls. It holds from 3 pm to 8 pm from Mondays to Fridays and encompasses children in classes two to ten.

The kids do various exercises; the boys play a three-a-side match, boys and girls challenge each other to one on one match and use various objects such as cups to practice. Of Course, one camper could only tell WBZ-TV that while at first she may have been a little confused about the need to stack plastic cups around, she had changed her mind to the extent that she said it was fun.

In return Fazio compensates the kids for the work done. This has included a “Camper of the Day” title each day specific to an age group. He also encourages all his subordinates to ensure that the week at the camp for the campers should be special.

“Ensure that that was the best experience they ever had in their summer,” Fazio added. “I give up my whole summer for this camp, we pour ourselves into it, I am out there dancing, I am out there moving, I am probably losing a few pounds in the process which, let’s be honest, we can never have too much of, nonetheless this is, honestly my baby, and I could not be prouder of what has been achieved here and we must not let it fizzle out. ”

”He has aided thousands of children over the years. ”

And while the man does care for his staff and his kids, they care for him even more in return.

The man is even like, this is the word I always use ‘like a father figure’ to someone who is always ready to support you when you are in depths of despair said one of the staff.

Said his younger campers: He is enthusiastic looking on the brighter side of things.

The old man has aided thousands of children over the years and, to the rest of the staff, he is merely the Hooptown Man, Coach Fazio.
