Los Films Signs Director Somayeh For Her First U.S. Commercial Representation

Los York’s Los Films, the in-house film discipline of the ad creative agency Los York has acquired spot representation rights of Somayeh exclusively in the United States, which is the director’s maiden representation in the ad market of the country. 
 
According to Huck Magazine, Somayeh’s work is about modern London with Iranian elements In her process, the story of her own heritage and self-identity frequently intertwines with the subject matter creating an affectionate language on the screen, erasing the distinction between documentary and fiction.

This was said by Seth Epstein the founder of Los York. “She has so much material to work with and such a great story and background to tap into, she is one of the best narrative filmmakers, she creates such stunning work that relies so much on the cinema, and the sound, she is new to the market, but she is tremendously experienced, she has been working in and as a film editor, film director in the U. K and Europe for many years and she is ready to come out here. 
 
In the U. K, Somayeh has done campaigns for firms such as Audi, Nike Google, Pepsi and Face book among others as a commercial photographer; she has specialized in fashion firms and designers such as Nathalie Ballout Hudson shoes and others. Nadditionally, she has written and directed a number of short script films such as Skin of Water which has just been nominated for the Best UK Short at the BAFTA/BIFA qualifying Raindance Film Festival from 4000+ entries.

Having a master degree in documentary film from the University of London, Somayeh has transitioned to a twelfth year career in film editing before fully moving into the director chair starting her representation in the U. K and Europe by Ridley Scott Creative Group. Prior to that, Somayeh was at London-based Magnetic Field agency and had worked with Abitbol who was appointed early this year to lead the reborn and renamed Los Films. Abitbol also took Somayeh with him. 
 
“Chris and Seth get it, so that’s why I came to them,” Somayeh, an alum of SHOOT’s 2023 New Directors Showcase. “I am a poet at heart, or soul, as they say. I want to work with brands that will allow me to put poetry and creativity into an assignment, to reimagine rather than just illustrate, to tell rather than show it, metaphorically rather than literally, to convey
