Chappell Roan on Why She’s “Kind of Hoping” She Doesn’t Win a Grammy

This is the official music video for the single ‘Good Luck, Babe’ The artist just won the Moon Person for best new artist at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.

Chappell Roan may have won some trophies last week at the VMAs, but a grammy, the ultimate music award, isn’t something that she really looks forward to winning.

Since the mysterious lady surged to fame in the past year after the dropping of her first album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess in 2023, some Grammy nominations this year would not be a surprise. But, apparently, awards themselves are not truly important to Roan at the moment.

“I’m kind of hoping I don’t win, because then everyone will get off my ass: ‘Look, boys, we did it and we did not win, goodbye!’ I will not have to do that again!” she stated in a recent interview with The Face, while at the same time mentioning that her “mom would love to go to Grammys or Brits. ”

And last week Roan, for example, received Moon Person of new artist of the year at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. She also sang her song of “Good Luck Babe” for the show.

Now, one would wonder what is the priority of a “Hot To Go!” singer? Roan’s main concern here is on work-life balance with an emphasis on the health of artistes with regard to the concept of sustainable music careers.

“This I feel so much ambition to make this sustainable,” she told me. “That’s my biggest goal right now. My brain is like: They could quit right now, take next year off This industry and artistry honestly feeds on mental illness, burnout, working yourself to death, overcompromising, not sleeping You get bigger the more unhealthy you are Is not that so messed up?

Roan added. “The ambition is: What else do I do but hate myself, my job, my life while doing this because right now, it is not working; I am just struggling to try to make myself feel healthy.

The “Pink Pony Club” artist has been quite open about her issues with the ugly side of fame and the sexual harassment she has endured from_counts people pretending to be fans. She has before sent appeals to men to ‘please stop touching me,’ ‘stop being creepy to my family and friends,’ or ‘stop presumptions about me. ’
