Carrie Underwood Talks Replacing Katy Perry on ‘American Idol,’ Teases What Audiences Can Expect From Her as a Judge

Carrie Underwood might get her chair in the judges’ panel of the American Idol. 
 
The winner of the show in 2005 —country singer, asked about Perry and Perry’s replacement Who is 45-and soon will be leaving Idol after seven seasons? 
 
Of course, it made perfect sense for Underwood to come back to Idol as the judge, and the official announcement was made on Good Morning America. 
 
In an interview at Las Vegas while appearing in The Highway’s Music Row Happy Hour special, Underwood shared her thoughts about her new position and hinted on what she has in store for people who will be with her on the show. 
 
“I think that has been a privilege to be you know I am so country obviously but I’ve gotten to do so many things with other genres of music too” said Underwood. Some of the present activities are definitely very exciting as Laci mentioned, It is evident from the following statement; “I mean, I’ve got a song with Papa Roach right now. It’s a lot of fun. ” 
 
“I like to think that I am versatile , and hopefully when I listen to people come and audition, I can have any lens I need to put on depending on what type of music I am thinking “ she said. 
 
About her judging approach, Underwood said that she will be blunt but she will also offer true criticism, yet still, friendly. 
 
“And I think that’s the whole point, ’cause people are coming in and you know, it’s dreams,” You are a part of someone’s story starting from that point, she continued. ‘I guess there is core truth of telling the truth being very important but showing kindness is even more essential and thus my goal is to embody both as a judge. ’ 
 
Underwood is the first Idol winner to sit on the judge’s bench. After being the winner of the fourth season in the Idol competition singing series, she/she has done extremely well in her singing career to have received eight Grammy Awards and a total of twenty five, Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association Awards. She has also groomed eight albums, and a greatest hits album climbed to the U. S country music charts eight times, with four of the albums reaching the billboard 200. 
 
She will be replace another new judge, along with the other two original judges; Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. Ryan Seacrest also returns to host. The latest season of American Idol which is the 23 rd one is expected to air sometime in the early part of 2025.
