Bullying claims are a ‘hit job’, says Badenoch
Kemi Badenoch has rejected criticism that she “bullied” her business department and forced out senior officials.
The shadow housing secretary accused The Guardian of orchestrating the allegations which claimed that the secretary traumatised her members of staff.
The newspaper provided reports of at least three senior officials that worked in Mrs Badnenoch’s private office stating they resigned from their duties through pressure from Mrs Badnenoch’s managerial intimation dubbed ‘bullying’ while she was serving as the business secretary.
Some people were said to have been brought to tears as a result of feeling so greatly offended by the conduct of the former minister now Mrs Badenoch whose moods have been likened to that of a mercurial dial.
While it is factually correct that there are former officials who are in the department currently occupied by Mrs Badenoch, her team denied the implication that the exodus was as a result of her conduct.
About the accusations written on social media, Mrs Badenoch noted that there are no official complaints against her.
She even stated that some of the persons, whom she believed would have been involved in the preparation of the allegations, had themselves been victims of what she called ‘bullying behaviour’ and thus had been dismissed.
The preparatory work for the vote is already underway as some candidates have declared their ambitions to become the next Tory leader, Mrs Badenoch is the bookies’ favourite.
On X, now metamorphosed into Twitter, she said the smear campaign against her was aimed at neutralising her candidature.
It, thus, appears that the Guardian hit job I have been telling you about in my articles last week has finally been deployed.
‘Of course, my campaign start has scared the lefties, and now they are running after the only person they are sure can defeat Keir Starmer.
“Let’s be clear: These are allegations of misconduct; I dismissed all the employees who I felt were engaging in the act of sacking other colleagues as a way of hiding incompetence and cases of bullying as well as embezzlement of organizational’s resources respectively. Offensive conduct an overbearing spouse would exhibit that I would not endure…
The business department of the said university, to The Guardian, has stated there has been no complaint against me, and no investigation conducted either. It’s all utterly false.
“But I won’t let it stop me or my campaign. The renewal of my party and the country is too important to let, The Guardian acting on behalf of the Labour Party do that. ”
In a response to the newspaper, a spokesman for Mrs Badenoch alleged that the material posted was meant to torpedo Kemi’s dream of being the leader of the Conservative Party.
“The Guardian has been in possession of these anonymous smears from a former servant of Kemi whom was allegedly guilty of bullying himself, for months because the paper is happy aiding Labour in proactively sabotaging Kemi Badenoch for the leader of the Conservative Party role,” he said.
“The Business Department is quite clear that there was never any complaints or investigations into Kemi, therefore these are pure lies, Kemi is of high standards and high expectation and she delivers high performance civil service teams who prefer to work with her.
The Guardian said that the suggestion that it based its story on a single source was wrong.
A spokesman for the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) said: As for formal complaints or investigation concerning the Secretary of State, we can quite confidently state that there has not been any in this department to the best of my knowledge.
“We are not in a position to react, in response to the top-bracket accusations by an unknown staff on behalf of other unknown staff Such a statement is completely false There is no way several senior civil servants have made unofficial complaints, or spoke in private, to the DBT permanent secretary in the last 15 months. ”
